Dagwood Radio has joined with Music Submit to bring to it's listeners the works of independent artists who are for the most part ignored my Corporate AM/FM stations because they don't have the millions of dollars required for massive publicity campaigns.
Internet Radio is growing. Independent artists and record labels are recognizing the benefits of using this new technology to distribute their music and get it out in front of the public. Music Submit is a press release and music submission service. They perform the arduous task of seeing that the people most likely to be receptive to the artist's genre of music are kept informed and up to date. Saving the independent artist time and money. Freeing them to do what they do best, make music.
In the past Independent artists and record labels have submitted on their own music for airplay consideration and review to Dagwood Radio. Often this music is either substandard or just not the type of music Dagwood Radio features. Even though Dagwood Radio plays more variety than any other Internet broadcast station. Now, with the assistance of Music Submit, submissions to Dagwood Radio are more focused and genre specific.
Below are just some of the new artists you can expect to hear on Dagwood Radio in the near future.
Topping the nominations with six apiece were Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Outkast and Pharrell Williams (three individual and three with the Neptunes). Nominees earning four nods were Erykah Badu, Willie Nelson, conductor José Serebrier and Jack White (three as the White Stripes, one individual).
Hewlett-Packard Co. is the latest company to stake a claim in the burgeoning digital music field. HP announced yesterday it will launch an online music store, most likely at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. The store will be run in conjunction with an existing music service such as Musicmatch.com and will compete with other online music stores from Dell Inc. and Apple Computer Inc.. After launching the store, HP plans to introduce a digital music player, though it has not finalized its design. (12/3)
Prince and the late George Harrison are among seven artists who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. The other artists to be honored at a March 15 ceremony in New York are rocker Bob Seger, British fusion group Traffic, boogie band ZZ Top, singer/songwriter Jackson Browne and R&B vocalists the Dells. Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after their first record is released. An international panel of 700 rock experts selected the honorees from a list of nominees provided by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation's nominating committee. (11/21)
